RBI Scholarship Young Scholars Award – Scholarship for HSC Students

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has initiated the RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme for generating the interest and awareness about the RBI and Indian banking sector. Under this Scheme, the RBI selects a maximum of 150 young scholars across the country via competitive examination and then award scholarship to them. The purpose of the scheme is to provide exposure of an actual banking and financial environment to the youngsters. It also intends to inculcate a sense of pride in the awarded candidates that they can associate themselves with such a prestigious organisation or the central bank of the country.

The selection test consists of the role and functions of RBI and other banks in India. It is conducted in both English and in all the major regional languages.  The selected candidates are required to work on projects in the selected offices of RBI for a period of two to three months and they are paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 7500/- per month during the tenure of the project. RBI will help the outstation awardees with their boarding and lodging.

All the students who are between 18 and 23 years of age and who are pursuing their undergraduate studies currently in any subject are eligible to take the competitive examination. Students should be doing this course under any recognized university in India.  There is no application fee charged for the selection test.  All the desirous candidates can submit their applications for RBI Scholarships either online or offline to the following address

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship in India – Scholarship for Students

The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan  is a deemed University established by the Government of India for the propagation and enhancement of Sanskrit. It receives complete financial assistance from the Indian Government and helps the Ministry of Human Resource Development in making plans and programs for the development of the Sanskrit language in India. As per the courses studied by the meritorious students, the scholarships are awarded as follows.

For senior secondaryand equivalent courses-  Rs 100 per month where Sanskrit is a subject

For B.A/B.A(Hons.) and equivalent courses – Rs 175 per month where three year degree course has Sanskrit as a prevalent subject

For M.A. in Sanskrit, Pali or Prakrit and equivalent courses – Rs.200 per month

For Ph.D and equivalent courses in Sanskrit or Pali or –Prakrit – Rs.400 per month and Rs 500 per year for period of 2 year as contingent Grant

The eligibility for Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship in India includes the following criteria.

Applicant should have scored at least 50% marks in Sanskrit and passed the qualifying examination

The Scholarship for the Senior Secondary, Graduate, Post-Graduate and equivalent courses is given for one complete academic year of 10 months that begins from 1st July and ends with 30th April. On the basis of marks obtained in the previous examination, the scholarship is awarded every academic year. The Scholarship for the Ph.D is tenable for complete two years including 24 months.

Every students is required to submit application form via the Competent Authority in the mentioned  pro-forma along with the following undertakings like he is pursuing a course with Sanskrit as a regular student, he is not in receipt of any other Scholarship and he is not employed anywhere.

National Talent Search Examination NTSE 2010 – Scholarship for HSC Students

The National Talent Search Scheme is intended to provide National Talent Search Scholarships for Regular Students of Class VIII. Similarly, you can inquire about NTS Scholarship via phone at 011-26562704 and Email at ntse2@yahoo.co.in. The no of scholarships awarded is 1000, on the basis of examination conducted. It is applicable only for the class VIII students and amount of the scholarship is Rs.500/- per month according to the NTS rules.

There is 15% reservation of the scholarships for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships is reserved for students to the ST category and 3% scholarships is reserved for Physically Challenged group of students of the class VIII. There is two-stage selection process involved for award of scholarship. In Stage-I, selection is done by States/UTs via a written examination. Those students who qualify Stage I are eligible for appearing for Stage II examination organised by NCERT. The States/UTs normally conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme in addition to the Stage-I written examination for NTS.

Students of Class VIII studying in the recognized schools are eligible for appearing in the Class VIII Stage I examination that is conducted by the States/UTs where schools are located. Stage I examination comprise two parts including Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) that covers social sciences, sciences and mathematics. Stage II examination at the National level includes (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) that covers social sciences, sciences and mathematics, (c) Interview.

Those candidates who passed the written examination at the National Level are invited for interview. Indian Students who Studying Abroad can appear for Stage II NTS Examination directly under conditions prescribed in the NTS brochure.

National Talent Scholarships ICAR – Scholarships for High School Students

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has initiated a National Talent Scholarship which is merit scheme for awarding financial assistance to 230 students as per their ranking in an All India Entrance Examination. This entrance examination is organised for filling up 15% of seats in Central Agricultural University, Imphal and State Agricultural Universities. This entrance exam is also used for admissions into institutes that offer courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Fisheries Science, Dairy Technology and Agriculture Engineering.

The eligibility criteria for the ICAR National Talent Scholarships include the following.

Age of the candidate should be between 17 and 23 years of age and there should not be any relaxation in the upper age limit.

Candidates should be Indian citizen

Candidates in the general category must have obtained a minimum of 60% of the aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry Biology (PCB) or Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) or Physics Chemistry Agriculture (PCA) in the 12th standard examinations

SC and ST candidates should have a minimum of 50 % of the aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry Biology (PCB) or Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) or Physics Chemistry Agriculture (PCA) in the 12th standard examinations.

The amount of financial assistance offered under the National Talent Scholarship comprises of monthly allowance of Rs.800. It is awarded only if the candidate takes admission in state different from his home state.

MHRD Scheme of Scholarship – Scholarship for High School Students

Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has initiated a new Central Sector Scheme under the department of Higher Education and called as Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students from the year 2008-09. As per this scheme, MHRD scholarships will be available to approx 82,000 meritorious students every year that belongs to non-creamy layer students who are studying in recognised Colleges and Universities in India. The selected students should not be in receipt of any other scholarship.  Also, about 50% of the total scholarships are granted for girls.

As per the scheme of scholarships, the amount of scholarship is Rs. 1,000 per month for graduation level up to first 3 years of the College or University Education and it extends up to Rs. 2000 per month in the 4th and 5th year of College or University Education. The Scholarship amount would be paid for only 10 months is an academic year. The students who are pursuing professional courses from recognised institutions are also eligible for scholarships. The renewal of the scholarship from year-to-year is subjected to good conduct and fulfilment of set academic performance.

The Central Board of secondary education (CBSE), ICSE and all the State Boards of Senior Secondary Education are requested to contact the eligible candidates as per the merit list of Senior Secondary Examination results and recommend to the MHRD about the details of Scholars who are selected to take the scholarships against the fixed number of scholarships given to the Board. The MHRD will disburse the scholarships to these selected students by directly transferring the amount into the bank account of the students via a designated Bank.

Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme – Scholarship for HSC Students

Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme is a non-political, voluntary and non-profit making social service organization that is established for promoting education in the educationally backward strata of the Society. The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India is funding this scheme completely. Maulana Azad National Scholarship for Girls is aimed at Minorities for recognizing, promoting and assisting meritorious Girl students who need financial support for continuing their education.

The Maulana Azad National Scholarship will covers for expenditure on purchase of syllabus books, payment of School/College Fee, purchase of stationery/equipments needed for the course, and payment of Boarding/Lodging charges.

The eligibility criteria for the girls to avail of this scholarship include the following.

It is applicable to only girl students that belong to National Minorities including Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Sikhs.

The scholarship amount of Rs. 12,000 is given to each selected student and it will be released in two equal instalments of Rs. 6000 each. The first instalment is given for class XI and second instalment is provided for class XII.

The scholarship is awarded to the student who has passed Xth exam and takes admission in XIth in the same year of declaration of Xth exam results. Those applications who do not satisfy this requirement are not entertained.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellowship – Scholarships for Kids

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana fellowship program is initiated to identify and encourage talented students that have aptitude for research. Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships IOC – Scholarships for School Kids

Under the Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships Scheme, 250 out of total 450 scholarships are awarded to 10+/ ITI students on the zonal basis where in Rs. 1000 per month is awarded for the period of two years.  Similarly, the engineering (100) and MBBS (40) students are awarded the scholarships of Rs. 2000 per month for period of four years. Students of two year full time PG course in Management/ Business Administration recognized by Central/State Govt, are eligible for management stream scholarship.
