Scholarships For High School Students In India – CSIR Diamond Jubilee Invention Award (CDJIA)

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the leading Industrial Research and Development Organisation in India. It has initiated Invention Awards for school children on the occasion of its Diamond Jubilee in the year 2002. These awards are given for school children for creating awareness, interest as well as motivation for Intellectual Property among the children.

Scholarships CSIR awards CSIR Diamond Jubilee Invention Award (CDJIA) for the School Children. The first prize winner becomes eligible for WIPOs Young Inventors Award that includes a medal and a certificate. Applicant needs to provide the details of his invention for the submission of award in approx 5000 words in English or Hindi language. It also includes an abstract in about 100 words and the details need to be authenticated with the seal and date and sent via the Principal of the School where the student is enrolled. Student should also send the personal details on a separate page.

In case of proposals which are already selected for state, national, or international awards, only the subject matter that covers the improvements need to be submitted for the CDIJA consideration. In case of published inventions, they are considered according to the provisions of the Patent. For this award, any Indian student enrolled in an Indian school and who is below the age of 18 years can apply.

Scholarships For High School Students In India – Chacha Nehru Scholarship

Chacha Nehru Scholarship The Chacha Nehru Scholarship program rewards the students in the areas of Music, Dance, Visual Arts and Theatre. The National Bal Bhawan is actively promoting the Arts across the length and breadth of the country. There are currently 73 state and district Bal Bhawans throughout the country. The National Bal Bhawan has put in place a system of rewarding the talented children in different age groups via the Bal Shree scheme. The Bal Shree programme honours the talent in the following areas

- Creative Performance

- Creative Arts

- Creative Scientific Innovations

- Creative Writing

The National Bal Bhawan selects creative children through various activities conducted at following three levels.

Local level – 2-day camps are organised where 8 children including 2 in each stream, are identified at the local level

Zonal Levels – 3 days camps are organised where local experts and specialists from six zones including Central, North, East, West, South-I and South -II participate for the selection of children.

National Levels – 4 day camps are organised from the six zones across the country.

In order to observe and assess the children creativity, a panel of experts and representatives from four streams are identified. Overall, 150 children participate in the National level camp and approx 50 children are selected for the Bal Shree honour.

The criteria for children selection for the Bal Shree award comprise of originality, innovative approach, divergent thinking, fluency, flexibility, elaboration of ideas, and creative.

The Chacha Nehru Scholarships for Artistic and Innovative Excellence are available for children who are pursuing secondary and senior secondary education in classes IX to XII.

Children participating in the National Camps and pursuing studies in Classes IX to XII are awarded the scholarship of Rs 500 every month till they complete Class XII. The National Bal Bhawan independently administer the activities for the selection of Bal Shree awardees. The National Bal Bhawan submit a list of children studying in classes IX to XII and selected for participation in the National Bal Bhawan Camp for awarding the Chacha Nehru Scholarships.

Scholarships For High School Students In India – Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships IOC

IOC has announced 450 Scholarships for meritorious students across India under the IOC Scholarships Scheme. In line with the social responsibility programme of the Indian Oil’s, the scheme offers attractive scholarships to talented and bright students. The students are selected on the basis of merit and means. The number of scholarships awarded is 450 and it covers the first year students of 10+ / ITI, MBA, Engineering, and MBBS. The applications for availing these scholarships are invited via newspaper advertisements under the Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships Scheme.

IOC Scholarships Under the Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships Scheme, 250 out of total 450 scholarships are awarded to 10+/ ITI students on the zonal basis where in Rs. 1000 per month is awarded for the period of two years. Similarly, the engineering (100) and MBBS (40) students are awarded the scholarships of Rs. 2000 per month for period of four years. MBA (60) students are entitled to a scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for a period of two years under the Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships Scheme.

Special emphasis is given to the physically challenged students, girl students, J &K and the Northeast States under the Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships Scheme. There are a large number of factors that makes the students eligible for the scholarships such as students pursuing full time courses in concerned streams, students studying in Schools/Colleges/ Universities that are recognized by various state and CBSE boards, shall be eligible to apply. Students of two year full time PG course in Management/ Business Administration recognized by Central/State Govt, are eligible for management stream scholarship. The gross Joint income from all sources of the family of the eligible candidate should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000. The Income certificate is issued by Competent Revenue Authorities only. The minimum age limit is 15 years and maximum is 30 years.

MHRD Scheme of Scholarship – Scholarship for High School Students

Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has initiated a new Central Sector Scheme under the department of Higher Education and called as Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students from the year 2008-09. As per this scheme, MHRD scholarships will be available to approx 82,000 meritorious students every year that belongs to non-creamy layer students who are studying in recognised Colleges and Universities in India. The selected students should not be in receipt of any other scholarship.  Also, about 50% of the total scholarships are granted for girls.

As per the scheme of scholarships, the amount of scholarship is Rs. 1,000 per month for graduation level up to first 3 years of the College or University Education and it extends up to Rs. 2000 per month in the 4th and 5th year of College or University Education. The Scholarship amount would be paid for only 10 months is an academic year. The students who are pursuing professional courses from recognised institutions are also eligible for scholarships. The renewal of the scholarship from year-to-year is subjected to good conduct and fulfilment of set academic performance.

The Central Board of secondary education (CBSE), ICSE and all the State Boards of Senior Secondary Education are requested to contact the eligible candidates as per the merit list of Senior Secondary Examination results and recommend to the MHRD about the details of Scholars who are selected to take the scholarships against the fixed number of scholarships given to the Board. The MHRD will disburse the scholarships to these selected students by directly transferring the amount into the bank account of the students via a designated Bank.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellowship – Scholarships for Kids

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana fellowship program is initiated to identify and encourage talented students that have aptitude for research. The selection for this scholarship program is open to Indian citizens studying in India. The applicant needs to submit a report of a project selected and executed by him exclusively for applying to this program. This report is required to be supervised by a teacher or professional in the concerned field. The short-listed candidates are called for an interview on the basis of project submitted and scrutiny of application forms. Interview forms the final stage of the selection process.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana fellowship 2010

Stream SA -  It is applicable to the students who have joined in XI Std. (Science subjects) during the academic year 2009-2010 and obtained a minimum of 75% marks for general and 65% marks for SC/ST in aggregate of Mathematics and Science subjects in the Xth Board Examination.

Stream SB- It is applicable for the students who took admission in the 1st Year under graduate Science programme (B.Sc. or integrated M.Sc.) during the academic year 2009-2010 and obtained a minimum of 60%  marks for general and 50% marks for SC/ST in aggregate of Mathematics and Science subjects in the XIIth Board Examination.

Stream SB+2 – It is applicable for the students of Class 12th of the academic year 2009 – 2010 who wants to join ISSER for admission to Integrated M. S programme for the August 2009 session. The students need to obtained a minimum of 75% marks and 65% for SC/ST in aggregate of Mathematics and Science subjects in Xth Board Examination

Igenius Scholarship – Scholarship for Kids

HDFC Bank Meritus Scholarships for School Students – Scholarships for Kids

The HDFC Bank Meritus Scholarships is intended to provide more opportunities to the talented, intelligent and deserving students. HDFC bank has taken this initiative where it plans to provide more than 5000 Scholarships that ranges from Rs. 2,500 to Rs.10 Lakh.
