Scholarships For High School Students In India – National Talent Scholarships ICAR

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has initiated a National Talent Scholarship which is merit scheme for awarding financial assistance to 230 students as per their ranking in an All India Entrance Examination. This entrance examination is organised for filling up 15% of seats in Central Agricultural University, Imphal and State Agricultural Universities. This entrance exam is also used for admissions into institutes that offer courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Fisheries Science, Dairy Technology and Agriculture Engineering.
The eligibility criteria for the ICAR National Talent Scholarships include the following.
Age of the candidate should be between 17 and 23 years of age and there should not be any relaxation in the upper age limit.
Candidates should be Indian citizen
Candidates in the general category must have obtained a minimum of 60% of the aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry Biology (PCB) or Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) or Physics Chemistry Agriculture (PCA) in the 12th standard examinations
SC and ST candidates should have a minimum of 50 % of the aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry Biology (PCB) or Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) or Physics Chemistry Agriculture (PCA) in the 12th standard examinations.
The amount of financial assistance offered under the National Talent Scholarship comprises of monthly allowance of Rs.800. It is awarded only if the candidate takes admission in state different from his home state.

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship in India – Scholarship for Students

The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan is a deemed University established by the Government of India for the propagation and enhancement of Sanskrit. It receives complete financial assistance from the Indian Government and helps the Ministry of Human Resource Development in making plans and programs for the development of the Sanskrit language in India. As per the courses studied by the meritorious students, the scholarships are awarded as follows.
For senior secondaryand equivalent courses- Rs 100 per month where Sanskrit is a subject
For B.A/B.A(Hons.) and equivalent courses – Rs 175 per month where three year degree course has Sanskrit as a prevalent subject
For M.A. in Sanskrit, Pali or Prakrit and equivalent courses – Rs.200 per month
For Ph.D and equivalent courses in Sanskrit or Pali or –Prakrit – Rs.400 per month and Rs 500 per year for period of 2 year as contingent Grant
The eligibility for Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship in India includes the following criteria.
Applicant should have scored at least 50% marks in Sanskrit and passed the qualifying examination
The Scholarship for the Senior Secondary, Graduate, Post-Graduate and equivalent courses is given for one complete academic year of 10 months that begins from 1st July and ends with 30th April. On the basis of marks obtained in the previous examination, the scholarship is awarded every academic year. The Scholarship for the Ph.D is tenable for complete two years including 24 months.
Every students is required to submit application form via the Competent Authority in the mentioned pro-forma along with the following undertakings like he is pursuing a course with Sanskrit as a regular student, he is not in receipt of any other Scholarship and he is not employed anywhere.

National Talent Search Examination NTSE 2010 – Scholarship for HSC Students

The National Talent Search Scheme is intended to provide National Talent Search Scholarships for Regular Students of Class VIII. You can inquire about examination via phone at 011-26560464 and Email at mamta.ncert@nic.in. Similarly, you can inquire about NTS Scholarship via phone at 011-26562704 and Email at ntse2@yahoo.co.in. The no of scholarships awarded is 1000, on the basis of examination conducted. It is applicable only for the class VIII students and amount of the scholarship is Rs.500/- per month according to the NTS rules.
There is 15% reservation of the scholarships for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships is reserved for students to the ST category and 3% scholarships is reserved for Physically Challenged group of students of the class VIII. There is two-stage selection process involved for award of scholarship. In Stage-I, selection is done by States/UTs via a written examination. Those students who qualify Stage I are eligible for appearing for Stage II examination organised by NCERT. The States/UTs normally conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme in addition to the Stage-I written examination for NTS.
Students of Class VIII studying in the recognized schools are eligible for appearing in the Class VIII Stage I examination that is conducted by the States/UTs where schools are located. Stage I examination comprise two parts including Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) that covers social sciences, sciences and mathematics. Stage II examination at the National level includes (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) that covers social sciences, sciences and mathematics, (c) Interview.
Those candidates who passed the written examination at the National Level are invited for interview. Indian Students who Studying Abroad can appear for Stage II NTS Examination directly under conditions prescribed in the NTS brochure.
